A first hospital for North Port
Sarasota Memorial is building SMH-North Port on North Sumter Boulevard, North Port’s first acute-care hospital. It’s expected to open in late 2028 with 100 beds and room to grow. Today, Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota and SMH-Venice are the system’s two hospitals in the county.
If you live in North Port or Venice, write down which hospital you’d use now and whether you’d switch once the new one opens; networks can change from year to year.
