If your PPO is ending, you have two good paths
In Palm Beach County, most of the 13,010 affected people are in PPO plans, about 8,950. PPO members often chose that type for a reason: they see doctors in more than one place, or they spend part of the year in another state. Palm Beach is also one of the few Florida counties where more than half of people with Medicare stay on Original Medicare.
Path 1: another PPO
There are 49 plans open to everyone in Palm Beach for 2027. Some are PPOs that cover out-of-network doctors at a higher cost. Check how they treat care in your other state.
Path 2: Medigap
A Medicare Supplement works with any doctor in the country who takes Medicare. Premiums are higher, but there’s no network. If you’re leaving an Advantage plan, ask us about your right to buy a Medigap policy.
Either way: drugs
Original Medicare doesn’t include drug coverage. If you choose a Medigap policy, you’ll also want a separate Part D plan to avoid a late penalty.

What’s new in Palm Beach County
Jupiter Medical Center broke ground in June 2026 on a neighborhood hospital at The Health Park at Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens, at Northlake Boulevard and Landstar Drive. It’s planned to open in early 2028 with 29 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department to serve the western part of the county.
Veterans in the county can use the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach. Medicare and VA benefits work separately, so tell us if you use both.
